Re: Gunman on Virginia Tech Campus

So currently the count is he shot 59 people total, without police interference.
    P&P my [censored].

Where was SWAT in all this.

They were always in a big hurry to get to the trailer park behind the community I managed when someone calls 911, but no action when at least 59 people have been shot one by one and they're standing outside the building.

I saw the footage the student shot, on CNN - complete with sound. They sat and listened to that many people get picked off by a 9MM.

Sorry that you disagree with me dear, but then again, what a boring life it would be if we agreed 24/7. You have P&P in your job? Sure you do, as do we all. I'm sure there will be some serious investigating. If folks like me and you are questioning it, rest assured millions of others are as well

I have a very difficult time believing that their P&P involved sitting and listening to people die.

Re: Gunman on Virginia Tech Campus

    Fox news just said 29

Bob, trying to rational with you without having to have censored pop up on my screen every 2 seconds. The fact that you can't type without having words censored doesn't show that much for control, which is something you would want a person with CHP to have correct? Unless someone has had some tactical training, its just as likely they could do harm as good. Yes, maybe they would have stopped this. Then again, maybe they would have tried to take out the gunman, missed (I know amazing even a person with CHP can miss especially in a shooting scene environment, crowded classrooms, etc). Then the shooter takes them down, then they have another gun. Or maybe then instead of being methodical, they just go postal and start shooting anything/everything.

You're dealing with teens (or very young adults). You're dealing with people in a stress filled, alcohol filled, sex filled environment.

And sorry, a CHP is not that difficult to get. You basically have to be what, 21, not been guilty of being bad and had a hunter safety class (or equivalent).

The limits "The issuance of the Permit does not allow a handgun to be carried in any otherwise prohibited place (school buses and property, courthouses, places of religious worship, events or establishments licensed to serve alcoholic beverages, etc.).

Wow so keeping handguns away from alcohol, events.....and what pray tell is 2 of the biggest activities at most bigger schools. Parties with drinkings and sporting events.

Again, that is not your profession nor mine. I haven't taken a look at their P&P, and I'd wager neither have you. CNN just asked the same question, and the answer was that V-T didn't take security seriously. No one was in place to assist. Let me ask you the question Why after the previous shooting earlier did the University not address security issues? I guess they thought that that was an isolated, once in a lifetime incident? Well, they thought wrong.

I had the 29 typed and just didn't delete it. I'll believe your figures.

NSSB, if you want to argue the point that faculty should be allowed to pack, I'll give that some credibility. It doesn't mean that they aren't going to make mistakes, that a shooter wouldn't know that and target them, etc, but that scenario I can at least see as possible.
